Sizes 52 and smaller do not have the center mounted cable hanger. Instead there is a "snake guide" on the left side of the seat tube.
Thread a narrow piece of cable housing or Teflon liner into that, then run your cable to the cantilever's cable hanger. The cable stop below that is for V-brakes
